Tauranga Yacht & Power Boat Club celebrates its 100th Anniversary over its 2020 - 2021 season.
The club was formed 100 years ago when a group of keen sailors and boaties met in a Devonport Road barber shop.
It was about that time, in 1920, that small motor launches were becoming popular too so the Tauranga Yacht and Power Boat Club was born.
A century on and club membership now stands at about 400, including some families with multiple generations enjoying a shared love of boating.
Celebrations include social and sailing events over Easter 2021 (2nd, 3rd & 4th April) preceded by the Farmer Autovillage Auckland to Tauranga Centennial Yacht Race on 26th, 27th March 2021.
Centennial Programme - SAVE THE DATE - SATURDAY 14TH AUGUST
SATURDAY 14th AUGUST - for the Final Centennial Event - The Centennial Dinner Party. This will be a fun night based around a 20's theme. We look forward to seeing you all here at the club to celebrate with us.
