Centreboard weekly Roundup Sunday 11th October

Sailors racing the centreboard series on Sunday would have seen a rib chasing after the Laser fleet and giving some advice. Yes, the Laser fleet had a coaching session! Mike Keeton who is a two time Masters World Champion in the Laser Radial came down from Auckland. He stopped on Saturday in Hamilton and we had 10 sailors hear his words of wisdom and then experienced a gusty and shifty sail (even by Hamilton standards - 0 to 20 knots and 40 degree shifts in an easterly over the hill from the water tower). Sunday we started at 10am with ten hardy sailors at a briefing focusing on starts and downwind speed. We then went out to give it a go! Lots of fun and I certainly learnt a few more tricks and still need more work on staying upright on a downwind leg!  There have been many positive responses to Mike's thoughtful and practical advice.  
Also, a big welcome to the Laser fleet to Finn, Ben and Caleb!
