Five Tornados travelled up to Whitianga to compete in the 2nd Double Trouble event hosted by the Mercury Bay Boat Club.  We were greeted warmly and well taken care of whilst we were there.  "Tornado alley was established at the North end of the bay as we had another Tornado travel down from Auckland. We were impressed with the large turn out from the Hobie 16 and A-class fleet.  Day one racing was generally light with 5 to 10 knots and some massive wind shifts.  Relentless held a slender lead over Arriba, Yahoo, Spitfire were neck and neck for third and Feisty Feline and Spirit rounded out the results.  It was quite a short course and was excellent viewing for spectators on the beach. The club hosted a wonderful dinner on Saturday night.  Day 2 saw a bit more wind but once again with it coming off the land played a bit of havoc with the fleets.  The Tornados had the third start and after the first lap we were finding things tricky weaving our way through the Hobies and A classes.  The MBBC put on a well organised event and we felt well looked after.
