TYPBC Windfoilers perform strongly at NZ Youth Champs

Last week was the NZ Youth Champ’s in Manly. This is usually the regatta to pick the NZL Sailing Team for the Youth Worlds, but due to Covid, this year’s event in Brazil has been cancelled.

TYPBC had 4 sailors entered. Teaghan in the Laser Radial and Max, Veerle & Olly Windfoiling (which was a new addition for 2020) Usually the Regatta is only for U19, however, with Windfoiling being new it was opened up to U21.

The conditions over the four days were challenging and one day was lost due to strong winds. On the last day they had 15-22 knots easterly, with big waves and some gusts peaking above 30 knots.
