Why become a member of TYPBC?
Being a member of Tauranga Yacht & Power Boat Club has many benefits.
If you have always wanted to Learn to Sail TYPBC Sailing School runs Learn to Sail (LTS) Classes for adults and children 8 years old and above. Our coaches a qualified and experienced LTS coaches who ahve a passion for imparting their love of sailing onto new sailors. You learn in one person sailing dinghys so it is a real hands on experience.
Once you have learned the basics in our Level 1 programme you can continue on learning through level 2 & 3 and then if you wish to continie move into the learn to Race fleets.
TYPBC offers racing in Keeler, Trailer Yacht, Multihull (Wednesday nights) and Centreboard (Sunday afternoon) classes, cruising for Keelers and Trailer Yachties as well as the popular Women on Water (Thursday evenings). After Wednesday and Thursday evening races the club is open for meals whilst race prizegiving is held.
The club house is open on Friday evening to members for meals and socialising. Quiz nights, tasting evenings, speakers are also offered throughout the year on Friday members nights.
Members also have reciprocal rights at other yacht clubs in New Zealand and around the world (when you can travel again).
