The Lion Foundation sponsored the replacement of 35 year old Carpet at TYPBC. Due to the size of the club this was no small expenditure and the club really appreciates the sponsorship that enabled TYPBC to replace all the carpet upstairs at once. With a painting bee just prior to the laying of the carpet the upstairs now looks wonderfuly fresh and modern.
The Lion Foundation is one of New Zealand’s oldest and most respected Charitable Trusts.  Since 1988 we have returned over $850 million back to the community, supporting thousands of good causes all around New Zealand. We have many Lion Foundation venues and gaming machines across the country and we consistently return millions of dollars into the community.  Last year that equated to over $36 million through over 3,500 grants for community-based organisations across New Zealand.  That is 10 good causes every day

NZCT have on a number of times provided grants to enable TYPBC to subsidise the cost of our coaching programme. This has helped to ensure an ongoing and affordable programme for prospective sailors.
Making a difference in your community:Kiwis love their sport, and NZCT loves helping them enjoy and participate in their sporting passions. Every year, we give millions of dollars in grants to thousands of applicants from a huge range of sporting groups - from rugby and netball to kayaking and lawn bowls. We are proud to be one the largest funders of amateur sport in New Zealand. While sport is our primary focus, we also provide funds for charitable purposes such as rescue and life-saving services, education, health, the arts, cultural and community groups. Our funds come from NZCT operators up and down the country who run our gaming machines in their hotels, bars and clubs.

Burton sails was established by Tauranga native, Sam Burton a long standing member of TYPBC. Burton began his sail making apprenticeship in 2001 with Doyle Sails in Auckland. Through his extensive international work experience with other sail lofts, Burton has gained the knowledge and expertise to cater to all of your Sail Making needs.With the introduction of Matt Hibbard to the team in 2017, Burton Sails has gained valuable experience. Matt started Sail Making in Wellington and has spent many years working with Volvo Ocean Race Teams and recently with Team New Zealand winning the America's Cup.
Burton Sails have provided sails to the winners of the 2019/20 Keeler sailing season a huge investment that TYPBC really appreciates. TYPBC encourages all club members to utilise the services of Sam who is an active member of TYPBC

Port of Tauranga provided funds that enabled TYPBC to purchase two new small RIBs which are used to support our dinghy sailing programmes and regattas as well as our Sailing School. These two RIBs replaced another two taht were 15 years old and had served TYPBC very well.
This type of sponsorshipis really appreciated as it allows us to focus our club funds on sailing.
